Celebrating Accomplishments And Contributions
The rail industry award is an avenue to recognise and celebrate company and individual achievements within the industry. This award recognises the amazing achievements of several people which include operators, track managers and owners, suppliers, consultants, and contractors. Achievements are the focus here. There are several Rail Industry awards, but the most notable is the Australasian Rail Industry Awards. It is an award that goes a long way in celebrating an individual or company’s achievements within that year. The award serves the following purpose;
- Appreciation of an employee for dedication and commitment to the industry
- Acknowledgement of the achievements of a person
- Promotion of an organisation or company for leadership in innovation
- Recognition of a service or product at the national level and by industry leaders.
The proceeds from the award are donated to the TrackSAFE Foundation, which is a Harm Prevention Charity that works to reduce injuries, fatalities, and near-collision on rail networks due to reckless behaviour or suicide.
The Rail industry has several categories which include;
Career Achievement
This award recognises the commitment and dedication of a person with years spent in the industry and a person who will be eligible must have spent a minimum of 25 years and proven that they are catalysts for change.
Customer Service
This award is open to companies and individuals who have provided excellent customer service and have shown innovation and leadership in this area.
Employee Engagement
This award is for the cooperation between an organisation and its staff and will be awarded to organisations that made workplace decisions that have led improvements in safety, productivity and growth.
Emerging Rail Specialist Award (RTAA)
It is sponsored by the Rail Track Association Australia (RTAA) and recognises achievements of young and outstanding rail specialists. Winners get a grant of up to $10,000 to attend any international transport or rail conference they choose.
Freight Rail Excellence
It is for organisations and rewards evidence of excellence in freight services for the rail industry.
Innovation and Technology
This award is for organisations that have created and implemented an innovation in the line of their business and have proven the safety of the innovation.
Permanent Way Institution Young Achiever Award (PWI)
This is an award for innovation and excellence for young rail specialists with a focus on rail infrastructure. The person must be below 35 years and belong to the PWI NSW as a financial member. The award covers a grant of up to $10,000 for the conference.
Rail Sustainability
This award is for organisations who have demonstrated solutions or applications focused on sustainable environments.
Safety
It is open to organisations that have achieved significant outcomes in safety improvements within the organisation or contributed to safety improvements in the industry.
Systems Engineering (IRSE)
This award is for individuals with contributions to the successful operations in railways in particular areas.
